On the 25 of September, 1968, Phil Masters and Stan Dale were trekking through the Seng Valley in what is now Papua, Indonesia, attempting to spread the gospel to the Yali people.
As their families waited for a scheduled report about their progress, they learned that a band of Yali warriors had misunderstood the men’s attempt to greet them as an act of aggression. In a narrow gorge, a hail of arrows propelled the two men into the presence of the Lord.
Eight years ago we released a conversation on YouTube with Phil Masters’ wife, Phyllis, and their daughter, Crissie. In honor of Women’s History Month, we re-release the audio from that conversation here so that you may hear the powerful story of how God worked in their lives following those harrowing events.
